During this project I found that all these memories were keeping me from moving forward.

Even though I thought that these were just memories that I like to keep, but not as to keep me from moving on, these made me unable to enjoy the time that I have presently.

It was ironic to notice; I wanted to enjoy the time that I was having now, but I was enoying the time of now to just be thinking about the past.

So after making this booklet of my memories, I want to move forward with these memories kept in the book form for me to go back to when I miss my past, but not in my daily life to keep me from doing that I can do to enjoy that day, the present now.

Even though the purpose of this publication wasn’t this, but being able to find about something like this made me to realize I should enjoy my life as it is rathering than thinking back to my past.

I had hard time printing at the DOC, because I really suck at doing computer works and the printing took a lot more time and effort than actually making the whole booklet itself. But it was something that I never learned before so it was good go know.

Overall, even if the results came out little different then what I have expected, I learned something through this process of making and I like how it gave me many thoughts and results to me personally through this project.

So I looked around the internet to see what kind of things I should put in.

Then I thought rainbow has all the colours, but how can I incorporate a rainbow theme into my book?

I thought about what I should put in to make things colourful and yet have some kind of interesting things in it, and I thought about ‘how about I keep mt dairy journal in this book?’

So I’ve decided to record my days in this book one day after the another and each day would represent a colour.

So in the end, I would have a colourful book with my journal to show how I have lived my life in 12 days.

It dealed with three top concerns that city should  address, and those three came to be,
-Social issues
-Transportation
-Crime

Throughout these concerns, there seemed to have no problems coming up from having a lot of homeless and people without any shelter.

In this statis, 80% resident are satisfied with city service, 19% very satisfided. 52% resident said social issues were their manin concern, 37% homeless/poverty were identified, 18% lack of affordable housing came up. 39% Transportation issues, 17% lack of or poor quality public transit, 12% traffic congestion and 6% poor condition of the city street was brought up. Also 30% were concerned with crime, 8% drug, 7% theft/ break-ins and 6% personal safety.

Throughout this information which was from vancouversuns news story, it said 37% of people were identified as homeless and had problem with poverty. So I looked for the whole population in Vancouver which came up to be approximately about 611, 869 and with that I came up with 37% of that population which came to be 226, 391.53.

That shocked me, when I saw the number 37%  I thought it wasn’t much then when I calculated, the number was way too much for me to take.

Then when I went back and looked at the statis again, I thought people dont know about these problems either.

Once I saw in Visual Culture class that there are people who had houses for their cars and boats. I thought that was ridiculous. If they knew there are people out there without any place to stay, and yet there are people who make houses for their cars, what are they thinking?

So through this facts, I decided to make some kind of ironic sense, so I decided to make a dog with a house and a person standing without any place to stay.

That’s how I came up with the idea to my poster.

My panorama came out to be very different from what I have imaged it to be.

First, I tried to go towards the theme of Utopia, and in a sense of little fairy tales. But because I took the photos in a very bright day, the photo itself was very dark even though I adjusted them on photoshop.

When I printed them out, it was darker then it looked on the screen. So I couldn’t get the sense of utopia out of it.

When we did the critique, I also agree on the fact that it’s hard to see which theme it’s suppose to give off.

At least this was a good exercise for me to learn about panorama and how I should never shoot directly on sunlight.

Overall, it was a good experience on photoshop.

But last week there was some problem with the printing process so I had to come early today to reprint again.

I don’t see a lot of difference but there is more lighting and more details put into the image.

It turned out to be little bit different from what I had in mind because of the lighting, but overall I am satisfied with my results.
